The War

Yesterday, I heard bombs blowing up… Mum said, “Are you ok?”

Today, I am looking at the stars…

Tomorrow, I’m free, soaring like a balloon, I’m happy…

I’m so happy… like a clown!

The end!

Leonard explained his reference to the clown was a simile and that ironically clowns often looked sad. He explained that in his poem The War took his life and his last memory was of his mum and then the stars and then a happiness to be free.

Leonard completed his work independently and we are very proud of him.
