The Suffragettes and Suffragists played a massive part in women’s history and without their pride, courage and ability to stand up for their beliefs, it would probably be a different story for women in today’s society.
This is why it is so important for us as two separate settings to collate together, working with a local Textiles artist to discover the challenges they faced. We have been working on producing a fabric banner celebrating 100 years of women being able to vote. The banner includes positive messages and injustices women still face today. We will proudly attend the march in London on Sunday, June 10th to support the women who fought throughout history to ensure equality in today’s society.
