We aim to work in partnership with parents to provide a high level of care to the children in our facility, nurturing creativity and a strong educational and social development.
Children at our nursery are encouraged to develop interests through a wide range of activities and resources.
We promote choice and provide child-led play by designing our environments around the children’s physical needs.
Resources are kept at child level, and artwork and photographs of their learning experiences are also displayed at this height to allow achievements to be celebrated within the nursery setting.
We understand that parents are a child’s first educators, and therefore recognise the importance of working in partnership with families and supporting religious and cultural beliefs.
When a child starts nursery at Venn Boulevard Centre, they are assigned a key worker. This member of staff is responsible for keeping a record of the child’s achievements using a personal portfolio, which tracks the personal, social and emotional development of each child.
We are committed to the development and wellbeing of all children in our care. We believe instilling a strong sense of creativity and play in the children’s day is vital for a positive start in life, and strongly encourage individual expression in all of the children in our care.
Nursery staff hold a minimum of a level 3 qualification in Paediatric First Aid, Health and Safety and Food Safety, as well as a level 1 qualification in Safeguarding Children (level 2 for management).
All nursery staff are also required to hold a Discloser and Barring Service clearance.
